Jeremy Sawyer

Associate Professor of Psychology | Kingsborough Community College

Dr. Sawyer investigates how collective action transforms people psychologically. He explores mechanisms through which social movements and labor activism can reduce implicit and explicit biases, lessen alienation, and promote well-being. He has published studies on the impact of Black Lives Matter organizing on population-level implicit and explicit racial bias in the U.S., and the links between social class, work alienation, and the development of class consciousness.
